Request:
We are using the school's set of digital cameras and we are in need of "AA" batteries. If you could spare 2 "AA" batteries from home, that would be much appreciated!

Reminder:
Tomorrow (Tuesday 17 May 2011) is the track meet at Handsworth High School. Parents who will be driving those children who are going to Handsworth,  need to be at Brooksbank to pick up your child by about 11:30-11:45 a.m. Parents need to sign your child out from Brooksbank at the office. Athletes should bring their lunch with them to Handsworth, but be prepared for a 12:00 pm start. Warm dry outer clothing is a must! Upon arrival at Handsworth, all Brooksbank athletes need to check in with Ms. Anna Coffin, and when their event is over they need to check out with Anna too (or her replacement if it is past 3:00 pm).

Sounds like cloudy with showers, so again, the ability to stay warm and dry for several hours will have a big impact on performance. Good luck to all competitors!.

Salmon Release
Thanks to the many parents who made themselves available to help with our salmon fry release. We put 91 wild salmon fry back into the river system where they will hopefully grow and flourish. The river conditions were ideal (lots of water, clean and clear and cold), and the nearby forest was a delight to be in. I will inform the Department of Fisheries and Oceans of our successful release. Again, many thanks to both students and parents who showed an interest and were supportive from egg stage to release day. Goodbye friends!

Reminders:

1) We release our salmon to the wild tomorrow (Tuesday 10 May) at 9:00 am. We have lots of drivers, so a big thank you to those who stepped forward to volunteer your time. That is much appreciated!
We'll be driving to the site as soon after 9:00 am as I can manage, with the intention of coming back at 11:00 am so we are back at school by 11:15 a.m.

2) Hot lunch orders went out to the youngest or the only today.

3)  Snack orders for fun day went out today with the youngest or the only as well.

Sorry to be slow in updating this site… I was off with pneumonia, and am still a bit wobbly!

some Gr. 4s will be doing their interviews Wednesday as they did'nt all get a chance today.

Reminder:
We are looking for parent drivers to help out with next week's salmon release. Please return the form asap whether you are able to drive or not. We'll go for a couple of hours next Tuesday 10 May and release our fry into a salmon creek. It's only 10 minutes away, but we do need parent drivers.
