We are working through our Unité 4 Les animaux (animals). Students are listening to learn the correct pronunciation, and they have a series of sheets that have the french/english translations of the sentences and phrases they need to become familiar with.
Electricity: students are asked to bring in a D cell battery (or a C cell if no Ds available) as we begin a hands-on part of learning about series circuits and then parallel circuits.
Most, but not all parents of Grade 6 students have returned the paperwork & cheque for outdoor school. We go up a little less than two weeks from now… from Monday 11 June to Friday 15 June.
Today we covered the topics in Electricity of insulators/conductors and storage batteries (p. 118-121 in the Science text). Students will need to keep up with the in-class reading and assignments that will happen over the next several weeks.
We have begun a unit on Electricity in Science, hence our "Balloon buddies", wherein we begin our investigations into static electricity.

Grade 5s have no homework but they will have a Unit 4 test early next week. A study package was handed out to every student so they can be fully prepared for the upcoming test. Everything on next week’s test is covered in the material I handed out today.
